Atlanta FC started their story at the beginning of the preseason with a favorable score of 3-0 over the team from the Liga Islano of New Orleans, this Sunday March 16th, in New Orleans. This new team of the city, that is going to participate in the National Premier Soccer League and the Open Cup, traveled to this city in Louisiana to play the preliminary game with the Marathon of Honduras and the New England Revolution, which plays in the MLS.

Atlanta entered the field in search of a win without having a lot preparation and without knowing the rival, formed in great part by ex professional players of Central America. The first 15 minutes were when Atlanta FC studied their rival and looked unorganized, Munillafailing to keep possession of the ball due to the bad condition of the field..

En that lapse of time, the Liga Islano dominated and were more aggressive, then Atlanta FC decided to push up on the field and from then on the game was Atlanta’s who on their first corner of the game opened up the score with a header of Adilson Lima, at the 20th minute of the game. Five minutes later captain Robert Munilla, the most experienced of the team, scored the second goal from the edge of the penalty box after many consecutive attempts and increased control of the game. The second half was also controlled by the visiting team and at the half of the second half, with a run from the recently subbed in Felipe Marcel, and with another great run on the left from Munilla, facilitated Marcel so that he could score with class over the opposing goalkeeper to close the scoreboard for sure (picture).
